Does your cat lounge on the backs of your upholstered chairs? This can leave your furniture unusable by guests with allergies, and speckle your clothing with unwanted pet fur. Next time you need to remove cat hair from your upholstered chairs, use this simple cleaning technique.

What You'll Need:

• A roll of duct tape
• A pair of scissors
• A sponge

Instructions:

1. Moisten a sponge with warm water. Squeeze the excess water out, leaving the sponge damp, but not dripping. Wipe the furniture with the soft side of the sponge to remove the bulk of the fur. The cat hair will roll into a ball as you use short, sweeping motions over the furniture. Dispose of the fur in the garbage.
2. Unwrap about three feet of duct tape. Stick the loose end to the edge of a table. Use scissors to trim the tape from the roll. Place one end of the tape in the palm of your dominant hand. The sticky side should face away from your hand. Wrap the tape around your palm and fingers several times, creating a sticky mitten. Leave your thumb free.
3. Remove cat hair remaining on the chair by blotting with the tape. Use a quick, strong tapping motion. This helps pull fur out of tightly woven upholstery. When the tape gets full of fur, simply rotate the mitten so the unused side is in your palm. Continue blotting until the fur is gone. Slip the tape off your hand and place it in the garbage.
