At Home with Bounty

Paint spills are bound to happen while you are crafting. Luckily, most paint spills are easily lifted with the right steps and tools. If you follow these simple and effective steps, your paint spill cleanup will be a breeze. These steps are suitable for all paint types except oil-based.

What You'll Need:

• A scraping tool
• Varnish remover
• Glycerin
• Dishwashing detergent
• White vinegar
• Cool water
• Bounty paper towels
• A sponge

Instructions:

1. Work on the stain as soon as the spill occurs, and scrape off as much of the excess paint as possible without pushing the paint further into the carpet. Remember to always work from the outside of the spill, in. Depending on the thickness of the paint, anything from a spatula to a Bounty paper towel works great for scraping.
2. Use varnish remover to loosen the paint, and continue to scrape. You can find varnish at most paint and hardware stores.
3. To clean up any remaining paint, apply glycerin to the stain and allow it to soak for about two hours. Remember to never allow the stain to dry. You may find food-grade glycerin in many craft stores and some major grocery stores.
4. Use a sponge to apply dishwashing liquid, and blot with a Bounty paper towel until most of the liquid is soaked up.
5. Create a mixture of one tablespoon of vinegar and 10 tablespoons of water and blot it over the paint spill. You may need more of this solution for a bigger spill cleanup.
6. Add some cool water to the stain, and blot.
