At Home with Bounty

One of the most useful of many summer crafts is to make a water bottle holder for summer activities. Having your hands free while you are out exercising is enjoyable. You will need a few supplies that you can buy at a fabric store or hobby shop. You may want to make several of these holders for friends and family. This craft is not geared toward children and is best suited for adults.

What You'll Need:

• Felt fabric in two different colors or prints
• Knit fabric for the straps
• A sewing machine
• Thread to match the fabric
• A measuring tape
• Fabric chalk
• A pair of scissors
• A water bottle to measure the bottom
• Bounty paper towels

Instructions:

1. Set up your work space with your sewing machine and all your supplies.
2. Measure around the largest part of the bottle.
3. Cut out both pieces of felt 1/2 inch larger than the water bottle measurement. Place the felt fabric on the fold so you will have only one seam.
4. Sew each side seam on the sewing machine separately.
5. Place the bottle on two pieces of felt and draw the circle with fabric chalk.
6. Add 1/4 inch all around and cut out the circles.
7. Pin the circle all around the bottom of the felt on the left side of the bottle holder. Do this step on each piece of felt.
8. Carefully stitch the circle on.
9. Turn the drink holders to the right side.
10. Place one of the holder in the other left sides together.
11. Turn a 1/4-inch hem at the top of the holder and stitch on the machine. Leave a 1/4-inch opening on each side for the straps.
12. Cut two knit strips long enough to make a bow or knot. Put the strips 1/2 inch in each opening and stitch with the machine. This is one of the most useful summer crafts you can make.
13. Clean any mess with Bounty paper towels.
