Shamrock decorations, such as a St. Patrick's Day shamrock garland, add a touch of the Irish to classrooms parties, office celebrations, and fundraising events. Create these simple, adorable decorations using chipboard sheets, scrapbooking paper, and string. Kids, teens, and adults may complete this fun project. Adult supervision required.

What You'll Need:

• A plastic shamrock-shaped stencil
• A pencil
• Gray chipboard sheets
• Safety scissors
• Dark and light green patterned scrapbooking paper
• A glue stick
• A 1/4-inch handheld hole puncher
• A white gel pen
• A ball of white string
• Masking tape
• Bounty paper towels (for cleanup)

Instructions:

1. Trace 32 shamrocks using a plastic, shamrock-shaped stencil and a pencil on gray chipboard. Make sure each shamrock measures about 2 3/4 to 3 3/4 inches wide. Cut out the shamrocks using a pair of safety scissors.
2. Trace 32 shamrocks on dark green patterned scrapbooking paper and 32 shamrocks on light green patterned scrapbooking paper. Cut out the shamrocks.
3. Attach a dark green paper shamrock to one side of a chipboard shamrock and a light green paper shamrock to the other side using a glue stick. Allow the glue to dry for 10 minutes.
4. Punch one hole into the top of each shamrock using a 1/4-inch handheld hole puncher.
5. Create faux stitching on each shamrock using a white gel pen. Start about 1/8 inch from the shamrock's top and draw small dash lines around the entire shamrock.
6. Cut 1 yard from a ball of white string. Thread the string through each shamrock's hole, alternating dark green and light green colors.
7. Attach each end of the garland to a flat surface with masking tape. Any leftover shamrock decorations may double as party coasters.
