At Home with Bounty

Snow cones are one of the most fun preschool winter crafts. They're easy to make and fun to eat. And what you put on your snow cones is limited only by your imagination! Experiment with different flavorings, toppings, and serving containers, and serve them up for a tasty afternoon snack on a cold winter day. Adult supervision required.

What You'll Need:

• Ice cubes
• Water as needed
• A blender or food processor
• An ice cream scoop
• Paper cups, bowls, ice cream cones, or other containers
• Snow cone syrup, fruit juice, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate syrup, cookie sprinkles, or other toppings
• Bounty paper towels (for cleanup and serving)

Instructions:

1. Place ice cubes in a blender or food processor, pour in a little water, and blend until they're finely crushed. Stir and add water as needed to help the blending process. The ice should be finely crushed and smooth, with no large ice cubes left in the mixture.
2. Scoop out crushed ice into paper cups, bowls, ice cream cones, or other containers you'd like to try. Be creative with whatever containers are on hand.
3. Pour snow cone syrup, fruit juice, chocolate syrup, sweetened condensed milk, or other toppings over the ice. Try cookie sprinkles, chocolate chips, fresh raspberries, or whatever you have on hand. Spread out all the possible syrups and toppings on a counter so that children can make and experiment with their own combinations.
4. Use Bounty paper towels to clean up any sticky syrup, and serve the snow cones with paper towels to keep little hands clean. Snow cones are the perfect refreshment while you're doing other preschool winter crafts, including coloring, painting, or making paper snowflakes.
