At Home with Bounty

A paper mobile is not only a fun craft for kids but an interesting addition to a baby's room or playroom. The kids will enjoy putting this together and showing it off to friends and family. You will need a few supplies you can buy from a hobby shop or discount store. This craft is best suited for kids over seven years old. Adult supervision required.

What You'll Need:

• Two wood dowels 12 inches long by 1/4 inch wide
• Craft glue
• A white mat board
• Strong string
• A pair of safety scissors
• Craft acrylic paints in different colors
• Paintbrushes--small and medium size
• A pencil
• A ruler
• A stencil with circles or a circle pattern
• A sharp nail
• Crystal beads
• A ceiling decorative hook
• Bounty paper towels

Instructions:

1. Set up a large work area and cover it with Bounty paper towels.
2. Paint the dowels with two coats of any color of paint.
3. Make an "X" with the dowels and glue them together where they cross over. Allow the glue dry thoroughly.
4. Cut 24 circles about 4 inches across.
5. Paint the circles in different colors on each size. Use two coats of paint to cover the circles completely. Allow the paint to dry.
6. An adult should perform this step: Punch a hole in the center of each circle with the sharp nail.
7. Cut 4 pieces of string 18 inches long. Also cut one piece of string 24 inches long and 4 pieces of string 12 inches long.
8. Glue several crystal beads on both sides of each circle for sparkle.
9. Tie an 18-inch string around each outside end of the dowel and glue it on to hold it in place.
10. String six circles on each string. Make a double knot after each circle to hold it in place.
11. Tie the 24-inch string around the center of the dowels and glue it to hold it in place. This will be the string that will attach to the ceiling hook.
12. Tie the 12-inch strings at the end of each dowel and glue to hold them in place. Join the four strings together on the main string, tie them securely, and glue them in place.
13. Tie the center string around the hook from the ceiling, and your paper mobile is complete.
14. Clean any mess with Bounty paper towels.
