Kids can turn plain sun visors into artistically imaginative summer hats. This easy-to-make craft project is perfect for children in preschool and up. Simply start with a ready-made craft foam visor and decorate it with any design under the sun! Adult supervision required.

What You'll Need:

• A craft foam sun visor
• Clear-drying school glue
• Sequins
• Craft foam shapes or sheets
• Safety scissors
• Markers

Instructions:

1. Brainstorm ideas for your sun visor craft project. Choose a summer theme such as flowers, the beach, vacations, the sun, or your own warm-weather creation.
2. Gather craft foam shapes or make your own that match your chosen theme. For example, if you are going with a beach theme, look for beach ball, shell, wave, sandal, or pail/shovel shapes. Create your own shapes by drawing small pictures on a sheet of craft foam that is 2" x 2" or slightly larger. Cut out the shapes with scissors.
3. Make your summer hats as creative and outrageous as you want. Glue (or peel, if you are using self-adhesive craft foam shapes) your shapes on the visor. Avoid the underside of the visor or the inside of the headband. Make a pattern such as beach ball or starfish, or create a random type of design.
4. Add some extra sparkle to your hat with a few sequins. Dot glue along the top edge of the headband to make a sequined border or simply attach a few foam shapes.
5. Set your hat aside to dry for at least four hours before wearing it.
